You are an athlete, whether you know it or not. The human body--and even the brain-- are designed to adapt to any physical stimuli presented to it. It is my job, as your coach, mentor and friend, to create the path for you to get exactly what you want out of your body, whether you want to run a 10k, compete in a sport, or to just look good at the beach!
"My job is to teach you the alphabet, and maybe even how to spell a few words. Then, with those tools, you'll learn how to turn those words into sentences, and then those sentences into paragraphs, and those paragraphs into novels."
I know that life can be busy, but that shouldn't stop you from reaching your fitness goals. That's why I offer flexible scheduling options to fit your busy lifestyle, with a very lenient and forgiving cancellation policy!
Something had to change.
The first day of summer after my eighth grade graduation, I decided to take action. I had three months to change the way I looked before entering high school, and I was determined to do exactly that.
The first time I stepped into the weight room with my dad, I had no idea that it would completely change my life. My dad taught me all of the weight training basics and we were in the gym five days a week, every single week, the entire summer, without fail, pumping that iron and hitting the treadmill.
Starting a fitness program, for the first time in my life, was absolutely torturous. My unused muscles strained at even the lightest weights. I remember when, after an evening of doing bicep curls, I woke up the next day unable to straighten out my arms. The physique of a comic-book superhero, the kind I’d always wanted, seemed so far away, and at times, impossible. But still, I showed up, every single day.
Fortunately, being a fourteen-year-old-boy who simply needed to kickstart his metabolism, the weight had come off quickly, just in time for my first day of high school. When my classmates saw me, I was almost unrecognizable to them. By the end of that same year, my arms had muscles, my abs showed through, and my bodyfat was under 10%. Everyone who knew me as out-of-shape, the guy who couldn't finish a mile without stopping, the guy who couldn't do a single pull-up or push-up, were all in awe at my transformation.
By Sophomore year, now that I was strong and in shape, I decided that it was time for some sort of athletic endeavor. I never had any interest in the traditional sports, though. A classmate told me he did Karate, and it immediately piqued my curiosity. I told my dad I'd like to try it out, and that very night, I visited a dojo for the first time ever (it'd quickly become my second home!) Similar to when I stepped into the weight room for the first time, I didn’t know what to expect. But the trajectory of my life was once again about to change.
After my first class, I was hooked. Despite my newfound strength, I quickly learned that I had absolutely no coordination, no flexibility, and no true kinesthetic awareness. I was fortunate that my two instructors were the absolute best I could have found, as they were patient and encouraging. It took one year of dedicated practice for the lessons they were teaching me to begin clicking. They set the bar for everything I'd look for in future teachers (at this point, I've had many), and for the standards I hold myself to when I'm teaching someone.
Over the past 21 years, I have trained with and learned from elite level athletes, martial artists, fighters, and trainers.
Today, I am in better shape than a teenage-me ever would've thought possible, and I am currently dedicated to sharing the lessons I've learned both in the weight room and on the martial arts mats with others.
Lock in this rate now, as prices will be raised to $165/hour January 1, 2025
